Membership Information |
Maumee Rotary's membership is comprised of more than
70 business and professional men and women. Each week
we gather together to network and to learn more about
our community. As with all Rotary clubs, we
participate in a broad range of humanitarian,
intercultural and educational activities designed to
improve the human condition.
If you are interested in joining the Maumee Rotary Club,
you are encouraged to attend one of our weekly luncheon
meetings held at Brandywine Country Club which is
located at 6904 Salisbury Road in Maumee. Check
the home page on this web site for meeting locations and
dates which are not at Brandywine.
First, you will need a sponsor - one member of Maumee
Rotary in good standing. Once you decide you are
interested, you will meet with your sponsor and a few
officers and directors to learn more about the Rotary
organization and the Maumee Club. Afterward you
will be asked to complete an application, pay the first
year (prorated) dues, and then your name will be
proposed to the existing members. Barring any
objections, you will inducted soon afterward.
New Member Expectations
New members are required to attend at
least 60% of all meetings as designated by the rules of
Rotary International. If you cannot make our
Maumee meeting on Wednesday, there are make-up sessions
at other Rotary Clubs throughout Northwest Ohio. A
list of these locations can be found on this website
here.
Web-based make-up sessions are also available.
New members are also expect to attend the annual Auction
sponsored by the Foundation - our next Auction is
Saturday, February 25, 2012 at The Pinnacle in Maumee.
New members are expected to work at the Soup Kitchen at
least once during their first year of membership.
New members are expected to attend the District
Conference held on a weekend in April. The club pays
for the new member's first conference. The next
conference will be held April 19-22, 2012 in Toledo at the Seagate
Center. |
