Are you ready for something really big?
Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located in 166 countries. As a Maumee High School Interact Club member, you'll be part of this great, 100 year old worldwide movement.

    We're also about Maumee
For 55 years, the Maumee Rotary Club has made our community a safer, better, place to live. We started Safety City to teach children about street safety, and we built the concession stand at Rolf Park. Our Senior Citizen Center has a van we bought them to reach out to elderly who cannot drive. Maumee Rotary Club's service touches an orphanage we built in Guatemala and villages in Vietnam that have clean water and new schools. And we take people from Maumee to these remote places around the world to build bridges of hope and world peace.

    And we're about MHS
Every year the Maumee Rotary Club gives away over $12,000 in scholarships to MHS seniors. From new computers at Maumee High School to major funding of the new high school arts center, Maumee Rotary Club is committed to excellence in high school education. Maumee Rotary brings students from all over the world to study at MHS, and sends MHS students to countries as far away as Thailand. Every year Maumee Rotary sends two MHS students to the 3-day World Community Workshop at Defiance College.

Interact is an international organization of service and social clubs for young people ages 14 to 18 that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship and promotes international understanding and peace.

The name was created by combining the words "international" and "action." Interact clubs are sponsored by Rotary clubs as a program of Rotary International. Rotary clubs provide guidance and inspiration, but the Interact clubs are self-governing and self-supporting.

The first Interact club was initiated in 1962 by the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Florida, USA. Two months later, the first Interact club outside the United States was established in Tanjore, India. Today there are more than 6,650 Interact clubs in some 103 countries and geographical areas, making Interact a truly worldwide phenomenon.
