Last Week

Our speaker was Mrs. Kyle Grefe of Focus Homeless Services.  She explained that poverty is a condition and it is a multi faceted process to more people to another level.  They use a three-pronged approach to be successful with this process. First they provide stable and affordable housing.  Second they provide case management for the family to provide skills and understanding of the rules.  Lastly, they help provide the skills to become economically stable. Focus is long term for long term results.  Their goal is family homeless prevention.  They want to get to the families before the bottom falls out.

Our Maumee Rotary Foundation presented the Focus Homeless Service with a donation to help them continue their work in our community.  Our rotaract club donated $1,000 to Focus.
